Robbie Ball and Dennis Katunarich were victorious in the final of the Doubleview Masters against Gary Nelson and Trystan Smallacombe.
The game was nip and tuck at the 10th end with Robbie Ball just behind 9/10, at the 15th end he was leading 13/12. It was a struggle for both teams but it was here that the game was to start to go Robbie's way, not being headed from here, 17th end 17/13, 18th end 17/14, to eventually take out the game 21/14.

The difference in the game was the superb play of Robbie Ball, who played fantastically well and converted many times in the skips position. Gary Nelson also played well and could hold his head high. While the leaders Den Kat and Trystan Smallacombe didn't have quite the game they may have liked due to things being very tricky.

March 1, 2005: The semi-finalists are in order of the draw to be played this morning March 1st, 2005 at 9.30, the final will start at 1.30

G.Nelson, Sub,T. Smallacombe----28
D. Opie, T. Simpson-----------------11

Pictured L/R .....David Opie and Travis Simpson, two young stars in the making.

This game went well for the first 4 ends, 3 all. Then the game blew apart with GN+TS picking up a 6 followed by a 7 for them to lead 16/3 at the 6th end and from there it went to 22/7 on the 11th end. It was all over and the boys played out time to finally finish it on the15th end.
Dave Opie and Travis Simpson did very well to get to the semi-finals, they will win the big one some day soon, unfortunately they were a little unlucky at times but they did run into a brick wall and never looked like they could win after 6th end... Well done to get that far Fellahs.

Dennis Katunarich--RobbieBall--23
A.Provost- K. McIlroy--------------13

Picture L/R The master, D.Katunarich and the apprentice A. Provost.

When I arrived the score was 12/1 in favour of RobBall+D.Kat at the 8th end, from here on things changed as KMac+A.Provost got their game going and started a long recovery to be 13/15 down on the 15th end with some very good bowls played by both teams, From this point the Kat applied some real pressure, Kyle Mac and the "Ant" responded very well but were unable to get the shot, 16th end 16/13---17th end 17/13 ---all over at 23/13 on the 18th end.

The final looks like it will be a real beauty and hard to say who will win but D.Kat has the wood over T.Smallacombe in the past.
