The Sorrento Master Singles 2004/5
Peter
Harris, genuine good guy
and Victoria Park superstar came from the clouds to win the Sorrento Master
singles against a valiant Marko Krajancic in
a terrific game of bowls.
This game started out with Marko doing it as he pleased, nothing was impossible
for him to do and he was magnificent, any shot he chose to play, achieved the
result he wanted.
He had young Peter under the pump forcing him to drive and kill three ends
very early in the game but not even Peter's terrific driving ability could
get him out of the mess he was in. Marko led 7/0, 11/3, and
up to this stage had the Vic Park skipper on the ropes and on the way out.
Suddenly things changed with Peter grouping his bowls nice and close to the
jack and picked up 3,3,3,
The score at 14/14 all, was the end of the game for Marko, tho we weren't to
know this at the time, as Peter Harris streaked away due to him picking up
on his draw shot ability which was missing in the earlier part of the game
to lead 24/16 , taking that score into account,
he has scored after being 3/11 down, 21 shots toMarko's 5.
Well Marko wasn't going to lie down and die, fought tooth and nail to make
it 21/24, as we know, many a player has won a four on the to be last end and
won the game, he did it to win the Champion of Champion singles against Paul
Pendergast last year.
This was something for all to see as a further indication of just how good
a bowler this fine young man really is. Congratulations to you Peter Harris.

Delaporte 25/24.
Peter was 18/23 down and managed to win this 25/24. Aaron would be happy
to have done so well in this event, and probably kicking himself to lose
with
such a lead so close to home, well done Aaron for a great effort.
Marko
Krajancic defeated Stu
Bainbridge 25/15. Stu
has put in a mighty effort for this event and maybe this will help him
to go one stage further next year. Well done Stu.
