The State fours semi finals 2004/5
Winton Langdon {skip}, Jim Bauser, Stan Curtis and Jim Weir
stormed their way through to the semi's in spectacular fashion at Yokine today.
In the second round, up against the crack composite combo of Steve Withers {skip},
Anthony Provost, Trystan Smallacombe and Nicky Lewis who were in brilliant form
and leading 16 / 6 on the 11th end, when The Doubleview combination unleashed
a strong finish to win 17/ 16 .
I can still see the composite combo shaking their heads wondering how they lost,
and what could have been.
In the next game the Doubleview boys came up against the young guns Daniel Brown,
Daniel Trewella, Lance Strahan and len Krajancic , and got away to a great start
with 7 shots on the first end, what a start!!
The skipper, Winton Langdon was sensational and played with such skill and resolve,
that a win was almost always a certainty. He had superb touch and was never going
to let it go. A wonderful skippers game Winton,They won 21/11.
He was backed up by a brilliant Jim Bauser who hardly put a bad bowl down, where
ever the jack was, so was Jim. The front end of Jim Weir and Stan Curtis held
the line and played their part in this magnificent victory. Sure glad that I
picked
this game to watch.

left/right----- W.Langdon, Jim Weir, Jim

Other results:
J. McElroy {Collie} defeated K. McIlroy {Doubleview} in a very high standard
game---11/

16 /13 down going into the last end managed to get four shots to win.

Must make mention of the brilliant game of Marko in winning over S. Hughes {

only he can with a sensational draw shot on the last end --- down two and only
5 inches to
draw shot-- well he did just that.
