The Season that was 2004/5

There were many fine performances for season 2004/5.

I was able to go to most of the finals of the big games and couldn't help but be impressed with Four standout performances.

1. Winton Langdon as skipper of the winning State fours team Championships.

2. George Elkins, playing as
the middleman in a losing team in the State Triples final Championship.

3. John Goddard as Skipper in the winning State Pairs Team Championship.

4. The remarkable comeback by Russell Hughes in games that appeared to be lost against quality opponents to win the State Singles title.

Though there were many other good performances in all events, those four standout to me as the best of many good performances...
