A great days play with more twists and turns than a Barry Gartrell drive.
SECTION FIVE
Section five had all the drama, this section was the toughest without
doubt. all teams bar one was loaded with talent plus.
Ron Taylor lost his last game to Steve Srhoy 28/2... yes.. that is correct!!
28/2, in 15 ends of play.
The other teams in contention, Rhett Butler had a hard contest to defeat
last years runner-up Milan Jokick from Manning
, in the last round of the toughest section. Rhett Butler
did not win by
enough
against Milan who did not give an inch to
take
the
section,
Steve
taking
the honours to play in the final 4 wins +41.
SECTION FOUR
Trystan Smallacombe had this section well in hand with a tight scrape
or two but far to good overall 4.5 wins +45.
SECTION SIX
Richo and his boys who were twice previous winners of this event had four
good wins after a bad start to win the section 4 wins +14 and the side
looked good going into the final
SECTION TWO
Mark Paslich won this section with 4 wins +20. And he had some close goes
and always managed to make it thru the close ones.
SECTION THREE
John Sharp had control in Section three with 5 wins +46 and was the best
performed rink in the Bowl. Facing a challenge from Pieter Harris in the
last round
as
to who might qualify, was settled very easily with Sharpy winning 22/5.

LR: Steve Shroy, Norm Pascoe, Mike Zusman,Glenn Vaughan
What a great
final it was between the six finalists
Davis 8 +21. V Pasalich 8+20.
Nip and tuck all the way, toward the end of the game Mark Pasalich and
his boys had just a bit to much petrol in the tank to win by 5 shots over
the 11 ends.
Smallacombe 9+ 45. V Sharp 10+46..
Trystan and his boys started out in brilliant fashion and doing it easy
and looking like they would win the Bedford Bowl. However Jon Sharp and
his team didn't like the look of the scorecard and decided to do something
about it and got right back into the game with some great bowls from the
team..
Srhoy 8+41. V Richardon8+14..
Steve Shroy and his team who really know how to play tough and did exactlty
that, they were certainly just that bit stronger when the hard bowls that
had to be played, and were played to make the difference to win +5 shots
over 11 ends.
The three finals ended with score being
Pasalich +5 DEF Davis .
Shroy+5 DEF Richardson.
Smallacombe +1 DEF Sharp.
The play off was indeed different with Pasalich and Srhoy equal on shots
up at 5 apiece.
It was decided that each rink would have to bowl to the jack on their own
seperate rink and get as close to their jack as they could, with all bowls.
The jack was alive throughout the end meaning if a player moved the jack
to any bowls at the back, they counted if they were inside the yardstick..
At the conclusion of the end, a yardstick was used and all bowls inside
the yard stick were counted. Stirling won with 5 bowls inside the yardstick
to Cockburn 4 and therefore won the event
