Four teams remain unbeaten at the conclusion
of todays play.
In the toughest section of the Bedford Bowl, David Opie and his rink lead the field and are unbeaten with two games remaining. He has to play the Trystan Smallacombe and Jon Sharp led rinks who also remain undefeated. These two heavyweight sides played a draw in the last game of the day.
It was a terrific game between these two sides Trystan and his boys are the current title holders and Jon Sharp and his rink won the Bowl in 2001. The game was a ripper and tho I didnt see all of the game the score was 12/7 in favour of Jon Sharp's rink with 4 ends to play, Trystan Smallacombe's team came from there to scramble a draw with some oustanding bowls being played from both sides
The big question is can David Opie and his rink beat either Jon or Trystan tomorrow --their moment of truth has arrived and we will know the answer to that about 11.30
Billy Brandsma and his Kalamunda rink have won all their games at this stage but still have to play Glen Dunn's Mandurah side who have dropped a game and appear to look set to miss the finals due to an inferior shots up compared to Billy Brandsma's rink.
Gary Caffell has a solid rink with him at the Bowl and remains unbeaten. His rink should win both games and barring complacency we will see them in the final.
Stan Hunter is another who has won all his games to date and still has a tough road ahead because he has to meet the favourite for this section, Jon Slavich's rink who have surprised by losing two of their three games today and now have no chance of playing in the final. Matt Massari is also a hard man to get past, however I do not expect the Eaton boys will not give away
their hard earned victories and will qualify fopr the finals
K. Triner is leading section two but any side can take this section out and it wont be known till the last game of the section who it will be.
Tony Cocodis leads section five Geoff White put a spanner in the works for Mark Pasalich's side by picking up a 6 on the last end to win by 2 shots.
