PREVIEW ONE BLUE SOUTH ROUND 12
Mosman Park v Rockingham
Mosman Park host Rockingham, the Rocky boys will be rested following their good
win against Hilton Park they will be looking for another scalp and you can’t
go any higher than Mossies, they have regained the top of the table following
their excellent win against Carlisle Lathlain.
Lester Mortimer Mosman Park (pictured) has had an outstanding
season so far in the role of Skipper
Mossies are very settled in
team selections as are Rockingham, the sides stack up against each other
very well.
Mossies have John Rainoldi and Lester Mortimer providing the foundations
(although Lester has had two weeks to forget), Lester will work back into
form and someone will pay heavily.
for Rockingham John Lethlean is the cornerstone,
Steve Wales is finding form and Watson McIlveen is very consistent, all in
all it will be game of the round.
Home ground advantage will just get Mosman
Park over the line however the Rocky boys wont be there to enjoy the view!!
The result is too close to call however you have to go the home team
Mosman
Park 5 / 3.
Carlisle Lathlain v Midland Morrison
Midland Morrison travel to Carlisle Lathlain, on the back of one great win
and a fighting draw they are getting good value from Martin Wattleworth and
David Rhodes.
They have managed to get out of the relegation zone but the
Carlisle boys will not be conceding as easily as their position on the table
would suggest, they have had a season to forget and will need to get some
momentum to give themselves a chance of survival, the Midland Morrison team
will want to build on their good performance.
Carlisle’s greens at this time
of year are superb, Midland will need to get adjusted quickly or the damage
will be swift and severe
the result will be Carlisle Lathlain 6 / 2
Hilton Park v Melville
Hilton Park will host Melville and will enjoy the return to home greens following
their sojourn south to Rockingham, that experience was not a happy one and
the Park will be looking to close the gap to Spearwood who are only 6½ in
front.
Hilton will be looking for David Opie (who is having a horror run)
to fire, he is too good a player to not be contributing, Eddy Clarke is one
of Hilton’s mainstays and Travis Simpson provides much of the Park’s momentum.
Melville come off an exciting draw with Manning and will need to keep scoreboard
pressure on the Park to give themselves some chance, Nev Brierley, Allan
Keating together with Gary McCormack and the return of John Trewella will
make is a competitive game, the Park play well on their greens
the result
Hilton Park 6 / 2.
Manning v Victoria Park
Manning will roll out the welcome mat for the Vic Park boys, Manning fought out
a great draw with Melville on their last outing.
the Red’s will be coming of
a huge win at home against Spearwood. Victoria Park are 4th and the Eagles are
5th separated by 1½ points, each club is setting itself for the run home, the
Reds will have a couple of huge games in front of them so they know a loss against
the Eagles will compound the difficult month ahead.
Manning with Milan Jokic
having a quiet day last outing but with James Jaworski giving the spark that
Manning need will line up against an in form Victoria Park with excellent skippers
Nev Young and Brenton Scott as their engine room.,
These two sides are very evenly
matched the Red’s will not be fazed by the Manning greens while the Eagles will
be looking to swoop and claim their prize and regain a berth in the top four.
the result will go the home team with the Manning Eagles 7 / 1.
Spearwood v East Fremantle
East Fremantle travel to Spearwood following their narrow loss to Midland Morrison
a fortnight ago, they are currently languishing second from the bottom and
need to desperately get some momentum to give them some chance of preventing
relegation.
David Cotton (pictured) enjoying his game with East Fremantle
The signs are there, John Brewer performed well at Midland, Bruno
Zarins is having a solid season, Reg Bullen is consistent and Gary Mitchell
with David Cotton as his third is a good combination.
Spearwood were jolted
at Victoria Park it was one of their worst loses in recent memory and they
will want to put that firmly behind them, Boris Yakas had a difficult day at
Vic Park and you would expect him to bounce strongly back, Tonko Fiamengo similarly
had a day to forget, with Ken Nadilo resuming as his regular third, he too
will be looking to return to normal transmission, the Blue and Whites will
have a difficult day, Spearwood will focused on the business at hand
the result
Spearwood 7 /1.
