PREVIEW ONE BLUE SOUTH ROUND SEVENTEEN

My three from six picks last round has been the result of a number of teams playing very good bowls and ensuring the last two games retain some interest in Blue South; Manning played great bowls to cause a upset over Hilton Park,
Manning are now a real chance to topple Mossies this week, Spearwood upset Mossies at their patch on Saturday and then followed up by beating Hilton on Sunday, East Freo are still working hard to avoid relegation and Midland is not giving up just yet.

Manning v Mosman Park

The game of the round, will take place in the Eagles Nest, Manning have hit their straps in the last four weeks and will be looking to stop Mosman Park in its tracks, Mossies were stunned by Spearwood last Saturday and Manning would have watched this game with interest, some chinks in Mossies armour were exposed and Manning are just the side to capitalise on this, their rinks of James Jaworski and Milan Jokic will be primed and ready to roll, the Rainoldi team for the Park will be very focused as well but they will need support.
Mossies will be looking to stop Manning’s run to the final round and promotion, but can they match it on the Eagles home patch? the game will be well worth watching with everything at stake for both sides, should Manning win they have a easier last game than Mossies while Mosman Park take on Hilton for the last game.

Manning have improved through out the year to be close to the top of their game at the right time while Mossies are now having to stop the gatecrashers, the Eagles will swoop and the result will be a convincing win for the Manning Eagles 7/1.

Spearwood v Carlisle Lathlain
Spearwood host Carlisle in a important game for the home side, Spearwood need to win and win convincingly to ensure the last game of the season is of interest to at least three sides, Carlisle has struggled this year with the sad loss of one their great club men and one of the best skippers going around in Bill Patterson.
They will need to regroup in Second Division next year and re-load for another tilt.

Spearwood have made the last two games of the season count for a number of sides, beating Mossies on Sunday has opened the door for themselves and Manning, Spearwood can’t take this game lightly and a solid win is required, the result will be Spearwood 6/2.

Victoria Park v Melville
Victoria Park play host to Melville, the Park is 5th while Melville are 7th, the Park went down to Rockingham last week and lost in a disastrous way, the Rocky boys take no prisoners on their home turf and once again someone leaves there with a bloody nose.

Melville travelled up the Roe Highway to take on Midland and they too found the trip tiring, these two sides sit in the middle of the table and will see the year out secure in the knowledge that they will survive, Victoria Park at home are a stronger proposition however Melville like the greens fast as well it will go down to the wire,
the Park winning 6/2.

East Fremantle v Rockingham

East Fremantle host Rockingham both sides are coming of good wins last week, the Blue and Whites need this win badly to survive into next year, they know that Midland have to play Hilton so a win to the home side could just be enough to give them hope, the Rocky boys sit comfortably in the middle of the table, they would like to finish the season on a high, the home side has more to play for.
the result will be East Fremantle 6/2.

Hilton Park v Midland Morrison
Hilton Park will roll out the welcome mat for Midland Morrison, the Park have had a horror two weeks since they resumed playing following David Opie’s absence, they will be looking for a return to the victory dais this week; they will be too strong on the day for the Midland team and will run out winners 7/1.
