Murray's Preview on One Blue North.

November 12, 2005
Round two in the One Blue (North) is a ripper. There are four matches that could easily be given game of the round status but the game I have chosen is the Bedford vs. Doubleview game.

You may argue "what are you talking about". Last week, Doubleview won 7-1 whilst Bedford only collected half a point on a visit to Sorrento. However those scores count for nothing.
The truth is that Doubleview (at home) only fell in against a severely depleted Sportsman's side whilst Bedford would have beaten a lot of other sides last week.
They were unfortunate to run into a "hot" Sorrento. With skippers the likes of Mal Lemos, Dave Crook, Dave Scott and the "never say die" Peter Hunter (whom came from 13-20 down after 17 ends to snatch a 20-20 draw) and with backup from the likes of Adi Mayer, Ron and Steve Rushforth, Keith Manton, Peter Healy, Vaughan Colley, et cetera, I am sure they will win more than they lose.
They come up against a very good team led by Stan Curtis, John Nicholls, Kevin Stevens and the ever reliable Eddie Johnson. Doubleview are also well served in the "middle order" with players like Danny Slavich, Mike Coyne, Kenny Screech and Wayne Markham.
This is what makes this game a beauty. I saw enough good signs in Bedford last week to suggest they will continue to improve and as such I am selecting them to win 6-2 at home.

IN OTHER GAMES-

Young Stephen Wattleworth will prove the difference as Morrison Park will defeat Nollamara 6-2.

Cambridge will hit back hard but may fall just short of Bassendean. Basso to win 6-2.

I wish Sportsman's every bit of luck possible but even with wishful thinking I can't see them beating an Osborne Park outfit led by Rance Dewson, Keith Guelfi and Dante Mariani.

Dalkeith/Nedlands will be angry and fired up to atone for last weeks defeat whilst Sorrento will look forward to all the challenges put in front of them. Sorrento 6-2.
