Murray's Preview on One Blue North.
Round TWELVE

94% OF THE PEOPLE CAN'T BE WRONG

According to the poll run by Sherro on the issue of two promotions from First Division Blue (North & South) 94% of the voters requested a finals type play off with two promotions rather than just the top side being promoted.
At the risk of sounding like a broken record I raise the subject again because my sources advise me that BowlsWA are going to do what I thought was the unthinkable in relation to this issue. NOTHING. If my information is correct the system will stay in place next year and perhaps beyond.

GAME OF THE DAY

Bedford (7th) vs Osborne Park (1st)

Very hard to make a case for Bedford against a rampaging Osborne Park but like they say in politics a week is a long time. That applies equally to lawn bowls.
I think Osborne Park will win but they will not have it all their own way as I expect Graybrook, Scott, Burke and Hunter to make the rinks of Dewson, Guelfi, Mariani and Eaton work very hard. The trap for Osborne Park to avoid is that they had it so easy last week they may think it will come that easy again. Against Bedford, it won't.

Steve Rushforth bedford (pictured) very good third for Dave Scott and Sherro is glad he is in our rink.

Cambridge (8th) vs Dalkeith (2nd)

Cambridge at home on the carpet will be an advantage but I cannot see them toppling Dalkeith.
We know about Dalkeith stars in Krajancic, Golem & Skoric but I believe their real strength lies with players like McIntosh, Bacich, Sutton Wilson, Gryta to name a few.
They have shown against Sorrento on two occasions to be a very even outfit with a touch of class to finish them off. Further, Tony Skoric got "touched up" last week and I am sure that will not happen two weeks in a row.

Nollamara (10th) vs Bassendean (3rd)

Nollamara have been quite superb in the past few weeks in turning their season around. However, they run into a Bassendean side that are in winning form and simply must win to keep their run at that elusive top spot.
At home, Brian Wardrop, Brian Saul, Jeff Post & Lindsay Hill will keep Norac, Beaglehole, Lynch & Savage honest but not enough to get the points.

Doubleview (5th) vs Sorrento (4th)

As mentioned above this game under the proper circumstances could be billed as a mini-final. Sorrento has been beaten on the 84th end in two of the last three weeks but their will be no excuses this Saturday. Up until last week Doubleview had also been playing below expectations. Johnson, Nicholls, Curtis & "Bomber" Haring head very good sides but with the week by week improvement I see in our younger players I truly believe we will win this week.

On the subject of our younger players a lot of credit must go to club coach Graeme Whitehorn who has spent and continues to spend many valuable hours fine tuning and improving these young guys games. I know Graeme bursts with pride when he hears that they play very well.

Sportsmen's (9th) vs Morrison Park (6th)

On last weeks performance how can I mount a case for Sportsmen's. I can't, so I won't. Morrison Park too good with Rollinick, Wattleworth and company.
