Murray's Review on One Blue North.
Round FIFTEEN
March 13, 2006
CONGRATULATIONS BOWLSWA
In BOWLSWA charter of objectives the first statement is:
promotion and advancement of bowls in WA
If you have achieved that through the new first division blue format then Osama
Bin Laden is a misunderstood Christian.
I give full credit to Nollamara for their win over Sorrento on Saturday but I
must say and I know many of the other players felt the same that the game was
worse than lacklustre it was BORING. Nollamara have resigned themselves to being
relegated as Sorrento has to neither being promoted (due to the lack of a finals
series) or being relegated. To make it worse we have another three weeks of this
nonsense to go. Already at least five Sorrento players will not be available
for games in the last three weeks as they have decided upon other activities.
Two bought forward a fishing trip whilst others are attending events that they
otherwise may have foregone.
If that is promotion I hope you never attempt to steer people away from the game.
The only real interest left in the division is whether Bassendean can overhaul
Dalkeith/Nedlands. Unless Osborne Park can perform a miracle and other results
go their way they are finished for the season as are all other clubs. Nollamara
and Sportsmen's will be relegated and in truth if you do not finish on top then
WHO CARES.
Winners on the weekend
Dalkeith/Nedlands def Bedford 6-2
Nollamara def Sorrento 6-2
Morrison Park & Osborne Park drew
Bassendean def Doubleview (7-1)
Cambridge def Sportsmen's (7-1)
SHERRO SAYS
Tim Murray is quite rightly aggreived as
to what BowlsWA have done to our competition. What
more evidence is required than right now that this is a terrible decision
for lawn bowls. Please look at the One White divisionto see what we have
been denied in One Blue north/south.
BowlsWA can't be serious that it will remain unchanged for the next three
years, can they?? IT SEEMS THAT THEY ARE !!!!

Dalkeith 83 (6) def Bedford 80 (2)
Firsly I would like to congratulate the Dalkeith greenKeeper Gary Ellis for
producing the best surface that I have played on this season. What a pleasure
to play at Dalkeith.
Dinko Golem John McIntosh Norm Dutton Peter Gason played a fantastic game to
knock over Dave Scotts rink. 20/13
While the Bedford front three had plenty of good bowls they were out bowled
by the Dalkeith front three. John McIntosh actually did play one bad bowl,
he fell short by 2 feet from the jack on one ocasion. His game was high quality
and just so good. Norm Dutton was always on the button whether he was up or
down, a
great
performance
Norm.
Peter Gason played superbly to always have close bowls to give his team mates
something to bowl to Well done Peter.
Peter Gason Dalkeith (pictured) a quality leader for Dalkeith
Dinko played so well also, he is a class performer .
David Scott was brilliant and played very well saving many shots time and again to
keep the loss to down to 7 shots.
While it is hard to seperate the best players in this game and remembering
how well the other Dalkeith boys had played my pick of Best players was
John McIntosh, Dave Scott
Shane Shaw continues to impress in new skippers job here is what Shane had
to say
today was a bit disappointing to come so close to knocking
off that top side and just fall short in the last end. But we can take solace
from the effort,
we had a 1 player playing in red and a player sick. It all goes for a better
year next year if we can get somemore players. The boys were great today again
we kept it tight, and got over the line with a good win. The difference for
me now between 1 red and 1 blue is that I am enjoying my bowls and playing
with guys who want to play together as a team and not as individuals. Great
effort guys keep up the good work. Oh by the way A number of Dalkeith/Nedlands
boys did comment on how nice an ass, Nigel had.
Shane Shaw Bedford (pictured) enjoying his new role as skipper, well
done Shane
Cliff Graybrook and his rink of Adi Mayer, Ron Rushforth,
Wally McFarlane almost won it for Bedford with a huge win against John O'Meehan
30/16
Marko Krajancic had an easy win against the rink of Kevin Burke who was leading
12/2 . Mark and his boys cranked up and got stick into some business to go
from 2/12 down to win 28/14.
