Murray's Review on One Blue North.
Round Two
November 16, 2005
This week I managed 3/5 correct selections.
The Dalkeith/Nedlands juggernaut turned up at Dalkeith on 16 + second greens
on Saturday. The pace of the greens caught several Sorrento players out making
life very difficult for team-mates. As we all know 2 vs. 4 players rarely results
in a win and on that basis Dalkeith took all the points even though two rinks
could have gone either way. Brian Collins and team got a 4 on the last end
to tidy the scoreboard against Tony Skorich whom was in brilliant touch whilst
Dinko Golem completely overwhelmed John Hammond 29/10. This was something of
a surprise because Hammo and his team were in the best 3 performed rinks in
One Blue last season.
The other one that I got wrong (but I am not that surprised) was that Cambridge
bounced back and trounced Bassendean at home.
Bedford defeated Doubleview as predicted but the result I was surprised at
is that Cliff Graybrook and his team were beaten so convincingly. I am not
sure what is going on with Cliff at the moment but in his prime he was in the
top half dozen players in this State and surely the unluckiest player to have
never represented the State.
Morrison Park did a job on Nollamara winning 8-0 away leaving Nollamara without
a point in two games. Come on Nollamara you are a better side than that.
Osborne Park easily accounted for Sportsman's but a special mention to new
skipper Colin Smith, Mark "Sharkey" McDonald, John Hooper and Mal
Gray for a good win over Dante Mariani and his side
Tim Murray
