My list of the 2005-2006 Lawn Bowls awards

March 28 , 2005
MOST OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE
1. Sid McCann in keeping Yokine competitive all year when many clubs would have put up the white flag and capitulated long before. Sid, your performance in my eyes is nothing short of spectacular

MOST DISAPPOINTING PERFORMANCE
2. The mass exodus of 10 first division players from the Sportsmen's club one week before the start of the season. It left the club no time to recruit and will see them in second division next year. I fear they may never fully recover from such a blow.

MOST ILL-ADVISED DECISION
3. Goes hands down to the Innaloo club for alienating the entire first division team that saw all sixteen players leave. This is another decision that will see a club fall off the first division radar over the next season or two perhaps never to be seen again.

HIGH ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
4. Cambridge First Division Red. They have performed well beyond general expectation and now have the job of finishing it off with the flag.

UNDER ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
5. Victoria Park First Division Red. Given the player stocks this teams performance has been disgraceful. They have five players that under different circumstances could play State for WA, another eight players that are more than competent first division red players. It seems a lot of "blame game" gets played at Victoria Park.)

BEST PROMOTER OF THE SPORT
6. Terry Sheridan by the length of the straight. You do not have to like Terry but you have to admit that his web-site has set a benchmark for information and promotion of our game in this State. We would all be poorer without his efforts.

HONOURABLE MENTION
7.. Mike Zusman and his crew (Marko & Kyle) for their efforts on the radio show. Mike is another personality that you do not have to necessarily like but you have to admit he has a great love for the game and does a great job.
