Pieter Harris (skip) Lance Strahan-------- 34
Tim Stone (skip) John Barasicc---------------8
This
game was really showing the difference between young bowlers and the
older bowlers
Tim Stone from the Doubleview Club and John Barasic from the Cambridge Club
(both 2cd division) had done so terrifically well to make the final and played
very well in this game
also.The
score doesn't
indicate
how
well
they played.
No matter how close John Got to the jack, and he got very close often, Lance
Strahan always
got
closer
and
on many ocassions
Jim's Bowls were within a foot of the Jack. After 10 ends the score blew right
out and it was only a matter of time to call an end to proceedings.
L/R: Lance Strahan --Pieter Harris
Lance
Strahan played a magnificent game in the final and not one State player would
have beaten Lance on his performance in the final today.
Pieter Harris was called upon only to follow the leader and this he did
there is not a lot we can say about the game.
After the game Tim Stone did
say that he only entered the Master Pairs because he thought it would be concluded
on the Sunday. He was totally unaware that he had to play on Mon/Tues, otherwise
he would not have entered the event.
Tim is 62 and has never won a big event and the same for Jim Barasic who is
70 years of age. Possibly the heat around 1/2 pm was a little overbearing
for these two fine gents. None the less they played many fine bowls throughout
the game.
Pieter Harris said he was very pleased to win this prestigous event and had
a lot of fun playing with his good mate Lance

Semi-finals
February 28, 2006
The
first semi was played between KenBoswell / Echo Widermanski from the Wanneroo
Club and Pieter Harris / Lance Strahan (Bed) which was won by Pieter/Lance
22/8.
L/R: Ken Boswell and Echo Widermanski
In the quarter final Ken and Echo beat
Trystan Smallacombe
/ Bruce Urquhart (comp) 21/18. This was a fine effort for the boys to make
the semi-final and well done on doing so. Echo is a playing in second division
as skipper while Ken plays in the Wanneroo One Red side
The
other semi-final was between Scott Walker/ Neil Smith from the Sth Perth
Bowling Club and playing in the One Blue South Division
against Tim
Stone and John Barasic (comp) This was a great effort for Scott and
Neil to make it to the semi and to lose by a small margin 15/18.
