----------------------Paul Hunter Winner 2008
--------------
Paul Hunter won the Consistency Singles defeating John Carlsen 126/83. It was a case of sweet revenge for Paul who was beaten by John in 2006
Paul was too strong for John and was always in control of the game as the score indicates but to Johns credit he lifted his game from about halfway thru to make the scoreboard look a lot better

----------------L/R: Dave Scott-Cliff Graybrook
I was unable to see this game due to playing in the scroungers. Normally
the game would be played at the start time of 1.00PM
but both players agreed to play in the cooler part of the day.
Cliff got out of the blocks early scoring a 10 on the first end and from then
on was just too consistent for Dave as the score shows.
Congratulations to Cliff for his fine display to win the event and
to David on his great effort being the runner up.

The
mens Bedford Consistency Singles crown was won by John Carlsen who played Paul
Hunter in the final.
It was a great game with plenty of close bowls and things were pretty even
up till the 9th end where the score was 45/45 all.
L/R: Paul Hunter and John Carlsen enjoy a coldie after the game
From here on it was John who managed to get away and build up a handy lead,
94/66 and it looked all over for Paul Hunter. However Paul was not thinking
anything but win win win.
Up till this stage John Carlsen
had almost perfect weight control and certainly deserved this lead. O.K Paul
set sail for home undaunted by the score to peg the lead back with some extremely
good bowls and after the 22cnd end the score was 114/106, HHmm not bad for
Paul, picking up 40 shots to 20 and a sniff of victory. John steadied and got
the shots needed to win 126/114.
A great win for John and congratulations mate.
Great comeback from Paul
to almost get there.
The semi-final saw John Carlsen to steady for Don Mort who did well to make the
semi's
Paul Hunter had a touch too much for Sherro winning 126/114.
The "Captain", John Norriss
{pictured} was in total
command as he cruised away to victory over the well performed Adi Mayer winning
the final 125 / 92
The game was close, when the score was about 45 all, then John slipped into top
gear and streaked right away from Adi in a brilliant display of draw bowling.
In the other games player earlier in the day, John defeated Bishop Wilk 110/86
and Noel Collins 125/ 80.
Adi Mayer {pictured} defeated Tony Garrett 114/106 and Dave Crook 125/110.
