ELEVEN
Dalkeith/Nedlands vs Victoria Park
(1st Round Victoria Park def Dalkeith/Nedlands)
The game of the season thus far. If I wasn’t watching my son Michael skipper his first game in One Blue I would definitely be headed out to Dalkeith.
In the first round Victoria Park won on the 84th end via a Jeff Michell special. I expect this game to just as close however I think Victoria Park have improved vastly over the last few weeks and will select them accordingly.

It would be a great contest if Mark Krajancic and Graeme Wishart drew each other. They and their rinks have been the form teams of the competition.
If State selector Rod Wishart wanders out to Dalkeith I suggest he take a good hard look at Luke Richardson from Dalkeith.
The reports I am getting about this kid is that he will one day be one of the stars of Western Australia bowls.
My Tip- Victoria Park
Yokine vs Gosnells
(1st Round Gosnells 6.5 def Yokine 1.5)
Neither of these teams has been playing well lately so it is a raffle to predict the winner with any confidence. For no other reason than I think Yokine owe their supporters a little joy I will select them but with no confidence.
My Tip- Yokine
Kardinya vs Safety Bay
(1st Round Safety Bay 8 def Kardinya 0)
There is no way this game will be an 8-0 rout in the Bay’s favour. I will select Safety Bay as after the Xmas break they have come out with all guns blazing whilst Kardinya are still in third gear. Kardinya could easily slip that gear into top and win but I will stick with Safety Bay in a very close one.
My Tip- Safety Bay
Warwick vs South Perth
(1st Round Warwick 7 def South Perth 1)
Warwick caused a surprise in the first round with a good win down at the Zoo. However these two teams’ fortunes have changed markedly since.
South Perth are travelling very well and give every indication of being a finalist whilst Warwick are in disarray and may be lucky to avoid relegation.
My Tip South Perth
Scarborough vs Thornlie
(1st Round Thornlie 7 def Scarborough 1)
Scarborough’s form over the past few weeks has been very good but they will have to be at the top of their game to defeat Thornlie. With just a couple of minor queries I rate Thornlie as a genuine promotion chance and I just can’t see them letting this one slip.
My Tip Thornlie
