--------------------TIM MURRAY PREVIEW ROUND TWELVE---------------------
-
February 1, 2007 ROUND
TWELVE
Another very important round of fixtures to look forward to this Saturday.
Yokine, Gosnells, Scarborough & Warwick all need to win to move away from that
dreaded relegation zone but all face difficult tasks.
An upset by any of these
four could make all the difference come the completion of the season.
At the other end of the table Victoria Park will be keen to show their last performance
was an aberration whilst Dalkeith will continue to push for that coveted top
spot.
Victoria Park vs Yokine
Yokine will not be overawed by taking on the “Reds” out at the Park on Saturday. One of Yokine’s few victims this year was over Victoria Park.
Victoria Park and in particular the rinks of Jeff Mitchell & Graeme Wishart will be savage after being humiliated at Dalkeith in the last game.
I expect there will be big improvements in those rinks whilst young Thomas Mitchell has been sensational with a 7-1 record.
Steve Withers has continued to improve as the season has progressed and is now reminding people why he was a State player only a couple of years ago.
Yokine would need to improve drastically to defeat the “Reds” twice in the
same season. I am tipping they will play better but not well enough to win.
My
Tip: Dalkeith/Nedlands
Warwick vs Dalkeith/Nedlands
Both these sides had great wins last start with the “Magpies” dispatching South Perth whilst Dalkeith thrashed Victoria Park.
Ross Donald Dalkeith(pictured) top class three
Warwick has home ground advantage but Dalkeith appear to hold the cards in relation to class. I think superior class will prevail at the end of the day and that Dalkeith will win a close one.
My Tip: Dalkeith/Nedlands
Gosnells vs Kardinya
Kardinya have been very good of late and Gosnells awful at the same time. It would appear an easy selection to make but I am going against the obvious and opting for Gosnells.
They have too many good players in the side to be down for this length of time and as such I have a gut feeling they will cause an upset on Saturday.
My Tip: Gosnells
Safety Bay vs Scarborough
After looking “gone” just five weeks ago, Scarborough has really turned its form around. Safety Bay are a good side but a little “hit or miss”.
I will stick my neck and select Scarborough to continue its rise up the ladder away from relegation. I am aware it is being played on the plastic but Scarborough are in a good vein of form.
My Tip: Scarborough
Thornlie vs South Perth
This will not be the last time these two teams clash. I expect them to play off in the 1st semi final. Both sides are chock full of talent but I have a leaning towards “the Ravens”.
Paul Pohe and his rink may be the difference between the two sides.
My Tip: Thornlie
