Tim Murray Preview One White

--------------------TIM MURRAY PREVIEW ROUND EIGHT------------------------

December 15, 2006 ROUND EIGHT

This is the last round before the Xmas break. For some clubs it will come as a relief as they will be able to re-group and come back refreshed whilst for other clubs they would probably prefer to see the season continue on.

Warwick vs Gosnells

I am going to pick an upset here and opt for Warwick. They must change their fortunes soon and I see this as the perfect opportunity to do so. They have many good players who might just need an ounce of confidence to turn their season around. John Mather and Brian Friend are two good examples. Both are very good players but have not had the impact they would have expected. If one of these rinks draws the rink of Brett Holland (the form team of the competition) it will be a great opportunity to turn things around.

Dalkeith/Nedlands vs Thornlie

The following is provided by Jim McKenzie. The Ravens welcome back Mike Halliday from Queensland. Mike has been a strong contributor over many years and his addition will beef up Thornlie's on green performance. Mike joins Paul Pohe's rink as a second, where he will add significant strength.

Given the strong performance against Vic Park last week, The Ravens are quietly confident that a win is available over Dalkeith on Saturday. It should be a great game and will tell a story for respective placing come finals time. Both clubs will be keen for the win, allowing the winner to establish a break of sorts on the other prior to the Xmas break.

Sorry Jim, I am selecting Dalkeith because I believe Dinko Golem and Tony Skoric are back in touch.

Kardinya vs Scarborough
Both good winners last week but in a nutshell Kardinya at home.

Victoria Park vs Safety Bay

I cannot go past the “Reds” in this one. They have a very good side and whilst they are still getting away with poor performances being masked by other rinks winning by huge margins they are still on top of the ladder. You can’t ask for more than that.

Yokine vs South Perth

I have no idea why but I am going to select the “Doggies” to win. Their form is terrible and they have been constantly disappointing. South Perth deserves and will start warm favourites but for the reasons listed above I am going for Yokine.
