TO SEE RINK SCORES FOR THE SUNDAY GAMES RPOUND 14 COMPLETED
SCROLL DOWN

March 4, 2007

The only Premier League game this weekend was played as a night game on the Cambridge carpet(since informed that it was played on grass) and in a surprising result, the Osborne Park Saints who have displayed some erratic form over their past three games overwhelmed Cambridge who had shown recent good form by beating premiership hopeful Melville, in their last outing. The win will help to keep the Saints in second place on the ladder and but no time for relaxation with some pretty heavy games yet to play in their last three games.

March 5, 2007
Since infomed that Cambridge had two rink changes, two players (Heal and Irvin) who could not play This meant Cambridge had to choose Joe Peci who had not played for 3 months and Joe Mobilia who had not played for 3 years.

Cambridge are now just marking time after this loss and there will be little interest for them as they are safe from demotion and no prospect of top four postion. They will be reflecting on their season and wonder how things could have gone so wrong after a brilliant season the year previous.

John Goddard OsbornePk (pictured) Brilliant game against the knights to help secure victory for the Saints

John Goodard and his rink who had team swaps led the way with a brilliant game provided by John himself. . John was at his brilliant best this evening to completely destroy Ron Stocktons rink, who have been one of the form teams of the competition over the past seven rounds.

Gary Caffell and his rink which also had team swaps returned to the form they have displayed for most of the season to snare the vastly improved rink of Scott Edmonds 25/16. Gary's rink is on the verge of being the top rink in the competition.

Trystan Smallacombe and his boys continued on with their winning ways by defeating Bill Galloway by a narrow margin 24/21

The hot and cold rink of Brian Katunarich won their game with a convincing win against Daniel Trewhella 27/19

There were no Saturday night celebrations for the PowerHouse after the loss to Melville. The player went to bed early on Saturday night in preparation for this important game
All systems go for the PowerHouse as they switch back on to beat Cockburn who were unbeaten in their last 8 games. Prickles Thorn and his rink recovered some form after two straight losses to beat the hard man of bowls in W.A, Steve Srhoy.
We saw how good Steve was yesterday at Bedford and this loss would not be unexpected if his front two players played like they did yesterday. But we dont know how they went.
Dennis Katunarich has has a good winning run of late and is now the top rink at Doubleview
Robbie Ball recovered from the Saturday loss to completely overwhelm the troubled rink of Gary Carberry who are having a lot problems when it come to winning games for Cockburn. I dont have the correct score but it was a big win for Robbie Ball

Sherro had the day off and just watched some of the games instead of concentrating on one game. Must say it was another great day and congratulations to the Leeming boys who got away to a good start and were in command for most of the game with the Bedford side playing catch up all day, and as we know, they never did catch up..
The Leeming boys were deadly serious about winning this game and were simply to good on a great green for a dispirited Bedford who did not seem to realise that the door was still open for a finals spot and have now passed away peacefully on a bright and sunny Sunday afternoon for season 2006/7..the last two games will mean nothing now. There are plenty of supporters who were dismayed that with everything in the world to play for, that the bottom side could beat them at home. Take nothing away from Leeming's fine effort though, they deserved their victory.
There are certainly some players at Bedford who just are not good enough to play at this level.
Over the two games this weekend their were some pretty poor performers

Stu Bainbridge and his rink were in control for the most part of their game against Jimbo Connor, The leeming rink persisited hard and were perhaps deservering of being a little closer scorebord wise .

-------------------
--------------------L/R: Ross Ryder, Geoff Gould and Jeff Richards

The boys in the above picture were far to good for Lance Strahan's rink. They set up the win and never ever looked likely to lose. They were in a very happy mood when I took this snap. Left out Graeme Wake, will get you in next week Graeme

Danny Comrie and his rink got away well to lead 13/6 on end 9. From there on they were in the box seat to hold Pieter Harris's rink at bay to win. Steve Harris had a good game and he and his lovely Lady Judy are really enjoying the win after the game

WANNEROO EXPRESS (6) DEF MELVILLE MAGIC (2 ) ..............85/81

C.Adams (skip), Russ Bates, Reg Humphryson, Gary Cox- ----.-----..-----31
Cam Girvan (skip), B. Mitchell, S. Hughes , J. Andrew....-----------------.-5

Amazing is what I would say !! last week, referring to Clive Adams's rink -- " surely this rink can play better than this" after a 9/34 thrashing from Robbie Ball
over this weekend they have demolished Robbie Urquhart and today they have cleaned up Cameron Girvan's rink in a crushing victory. making it 63/15 for the two games.........Hmm not a bad sort of recovery one would say. Clive and his boys have kept the dream alive for the Express to defend their title.
O.K ! for Cameron and his boys " surely this rink can play better than this"

Ron Bates(skip),Hutchings , G.Adamini, Sean Wright,-----------------.---10

Like old man river, Jon Sharp just keeps rolling along and what a great weekend for him and his rink to really take the Ron Bates led rink apart

Stein Davies (skip), Ted.Alden, Murray Hulbert, Derrick Griffin----...----26
A. Provost (skip), Doc Oakley, C. Fleay, S. Knott ......------.. ...----------.---.21

Stein Davies and his rink have done well to roll the Big Ant by five and further the Wanneroo ambitions of winning another flag.
The game was up for grabs on the last end and this was one big big bowl from Stein Davies who with his last bowl for the game trailed the jack for 4 shots to win the game.

N. Stevens (skip), John Carter, D. Bowen, Ken Boswell, .--------------------18
R.Butler (skip) ,B.Alexander, R. Kennedy, Mosford

Rhett Butler's rink had a much needed win and this might be just the thing to re-establish some much needed confidence for the remainder of the season.
