Jan Collins wins the Singles crown for the second year running after defeating Mai Norriss.

At one stage of the game Mai was leading 14/7 and looking good for the title. However it was Jan who came home with a rush to win the game.
We have no other information on this game

What a great game between Jan Collins and Corry Van Den Heuvel !
There was little between these two Ladies who put on a great game to decide
the winner. The last end was very tense at 24/24 with Jan sitting on the
jack, and that is where you would like to be in this situation..
Corry almost got the bowl off, just rocking it but not quite enough and Jan
is now the new Singles champ.

Both Jan and Corry were very happy with the game they played for the Blue
Ribbon event keeping spectators on their toes throughout the game..
Congratulations to both ladies for providing a wonderful game.
The winner of the plate was Shirley Chatfield who defeated Sue Stevens 25/13

Colleen
Robinson played an exceptionally good game to defeat Gwen Williams..
Gwen did have plenty of good bowls around the head but Colleen always converted
when in trouble.
After the game Gwen paid Colleen the best compliment by saying she had played
like a true Champion.

Last years finalists in the major
contested the plate this year and Judy Bond defeated Liz Brooke 25 - 23 in
a really good game. Liz has certainly made up ground, going last years score.

Judy Bond, the wily veteran played a great game against first year bowler,
Liz Brooke, who did extremely well to make the final.
I am sure that Liz will do very well in the years to come in this and other
events.
