Preview round Six One Blue North
November
30, 2006
Preview 1 Blue North Round 6.
Wanneroo (15 pts) v North Beach (17 points)
Wanneroo gave Doubleview a fright losing the aggregate by only five shots and
returning to their home greens they can be expected to record a comfortable victory.
However, only Echo Widermanski has recorded two rink victories so far this season.
North Beach have John Coles carrying the load but another loss to the Beach will
place them in relegation area as most certainly also would a loss by Wanneroo.
Selection: Wanneroo
Morley (24½ pts) v Bassendean (34
pts)
A first home loss by Morley will probably end any aspirations of finishing
in the top position. Skipper A Haley has an undefeated record as does Marcel
Heurer for Bassendean and a meeting of the two rinks would be pivotal.
Graig Greenhalgh, who was in the opening game and Dean Robertson have added
playing strength which Bassendean may require, as they only won by a single
shot away to Osborne Park, who in turn just fell over the line against Innaloo
last week.
Selection: Bassendean
Cambridge (12) v Doubleview (22)
Cambridge are having successive games at home and three games ago they defeated
Morley very comfortably at home by 26 shots and they will be desperate to
win again to get out of the relegation zone.

One third of the way into the season, Doubleview are playing a crucial game,
as a loss would place them too far out of reach of top position.
That is the Achilles Heel of this competition, with only the team finishing
on top being promoted and finals counting for nothing, the season can come
to a premature end for many teams.
Selection: Doubleview
Sorrento (31) v Osborne Park (24½)
Sorrento have five skippers with more wins than losses and plus shots, led
by Neil Adams with five straight wins and plus 34 shots. They currently represent
the strongest threat to Bassendean for the top spot.
Previously Osborne Park started strongly and lost by only one shot home to
Bassendean, however they fell over the line against Innaloo last week.
Doug
Eaton continues his unbeaten run with five wins and plus 38 shots. Again a
crucial game in respect to the whole season.
Selection: Sorrento
Bedford (16) v Innaloo (4)
Bedford was disappointing last week, whilst the undermanned Innaloo put up
a great fight.
Innaloo are most certainly destined for second division and a most interesting
question posed in 1 Blue North is ‘Who is going to join them’?
Bedford won’t want to be the answer to that question and can expect to
rebound.
Selection: Bedford
