Preview round Seven One Blue North

December 7, 2006
Preview 1 Blue North Round 7.

Innaloo (10 pts) v Morley (26½ pts)
Innaloo can be well proud of their efforts of last week defeating Bedford and they certainly left egg on the face of The Observer. Morley gave top side Bassendean a run for their money and though now a distant third, led by their undefeated skipper A Haley, they will seek maximum points opposed to Innaloo.

Selection: Morley

Bassendean (40) v Wanneroo (16½)

The one weakness I detect in Bassendean is that they are yet to score the maximum eight points, whilst Sorrento, hot on their heels has done it twice. Also the Bassendean percentage of 118% is quite inferior to Sorrento 150%. Bassendean do not appear to have the evenness of strength across all rinks that Sorrento has.

Wanneroo would be lost without Echo Widermanski with three wins, whilst no other skipper has been victorious more than once.
Every point may be crucial for Wanneroo to avoid relegation.
Selection: Bassendean

Osborne Park (25½) v Bedford (18)

One third of the way through the season and the only real importance here is to gain points to avoid relegation. After running Bassendean so close, Osborne Park has settled into being a middle of the road side. Bedford, following a solid start has been dismal in the last two games and is one of the prime suspects for demotion following their defeat by Innaloo. After a great run, Doug Eaton finally met his match in the form of the undefeated Neil Adams.
Selection: Osborne Park

North Beach (23½) v Cambridge (18½)

This is a meeting of two winners from last week of which I failed to pick either. A win to North Beach will have them close to the top four whilst Cambridge are still perilously close to the demotion area. John Coles and skipper M Vitale have been best for the Beach, whilst Keith Cannon and John Dawson are the leading skips for Cambridge, however they are yet to win away from the carpet.

Selection: North Beach

Doubleview (23½) v Sorrento (38)
With three single figure home victories against the current three bottom sides, the View must be extremely disappointed with their effort. They have a number of players with Red experience and have added depth with their recruitment.

Led by the undefeated Neil Adams (6/0 + 46 shots), all Sorrento skippers have results on the positive side and their total shots up is 188 with a team percentage of 150. Logic points to Sorrento.
Will Doubleview at last perform to their potential with the return of skipper Eddy Johnson and gain some respectability or become entrenched in the bottom half as they are yet to meet Bassendean this round?
Selection: Doubleview
