Review 1 Blue North Round THIRTEEN

North Beach 77 (6½) d Bedford 71 (1½)

North Beach leap frogged Bedford and Michael Murray continues his unbeaten winning record – just.
Bedford at one stage of the game enjoyed a 20 shot advantage with Peter Hunter leading Mike Murray 14/8 to lose on 17/16 on the last end and Shane Nunan also well in control, leading 10/2 to lose 23/14.
Neither of these teams is completely safe but should stave off demotion with Bedford now the most vulnerable.

Bassendean 90 (6) d Osborne Park 71 (2)

Bassendean reverted to their previous line-ups and in a perverse way, Justin Opie could take some satisfaction from the fact that his rink lost, but they still won the aggregate. Cliff Guelfi was the victorious skipper opposed to Justin. Marcel Heurer returned to the winning list with a 15 shot victory.

Doubleview 98 (6) d Morley 89 (2)

A big win to Eddie Johnson and with Stan Curtis, defeating Alan Haley they carried the day for the View.
Morley’s rink with skipper Jim Corrin, continued Bomber Haring’s dismal season, winning by 12 shots. Morley play North Beach, Innaloo and Bedford at home in coming rounds and are consequently favoured to hold this colour.

Wanneroo 93 (7) d Cambridge 82 (1)

Four straight victories to Wanneroo with Echo Windermanski + 17 shots, but not as good as the Knights John Dawson, winning by 21 against Barry Parmenter.

The Roos will be looking forward to next season with the belief they are a good chance for promotion after this season’s experience when they were slow to start.

Cambridge have North Beach and Innaloo at home, but away games to Sorrento, Doubleview and Bassendean. They will have difficulty overtaking Morley with their draw and will consider Bedford their best target.

Sorrento 101 (8) d Innaloo 56 (0)

As expected Sorrento belted Innaloo and are now only three points astern of Bassendean. They have three home games left compared to Bassendean’s two, so the struggle for promotion will see every ½ point crucial.
