REVIEW ONE BLUE NORTH ROUND SEVENTEEN

Sorrento 80 (6) bt Bedford 70 (2) at Bedford

Sherro went and watched half of this game, it was so important for Bedford who are trying to avoid demotion and a win would have seen the boys survive demotion.
The game I watched in particular was the game between Neil Adams's rink and Kevin Burke. It was as good as any Premier League game I have seen this season and better than many others.

---Tony Garrett delivers another great bowl for Bedford in a top class game
----------------------

The skill level was sooooo good. When I arrived the score was 12/6 in Kevin Burkes favour. They were holding a great five shots with two knockers sitting right on the jack. The Sorrento third Ian Linford played the perfect draw shot bowl to get shot. Sorrento held that shot and from there on they were able to charge to a 15/12 lead. The Bedford boys didn't take their foot of the accelerator, the heads were very tight.

----------------Ian Linford played an inspiring game for Sorrento

---------------------------

Bedford fought back to win the game on the last end in a brilliant display of bowls from both sides. We saw a repeat of Umpire Ron Rushforth having to decide if a bowl was in or out of bounds on the last end of the game in a similar situation to the Steve Srhoy, Jones Boy game.
It is easy to see why Neil Adams and his rink are the top rink in the competition. His team are so pinpoint and respond with big bowls when they have to.
John Carlsen played an excellent game as lead as did Hans Correlje, Gary Dennis was very good and Dave Twohig put in plenty of good bowls. The two thirds were exceptional, Tony Garrett and Ian Lynford were unbelievably good and what a great pair of players these two are.
The skips Neil Adams and Kevin Burke were terrific also. A fantastic game and you will battle to see a better standard than what was on display in this game. An absolute pleasure to watch.

Graeme Campbell skippered on Saturday and bought immediate results toppling the great rink of John Brown.
The Sorrento team were just a little to strong but it is interesting to see that Bedford rolled the two best rinks in a One Blue in this game and we can but hope that they boys can reproduce this effort against Morley next week.
