REVIEW ONE BLUE NORTH ROUND EIGHTEEN
Bedford 83 (7) d Morley 68 (1)
Well Sherro, you told me Bedford had every chance of winning and avoiding relegation and I gave them no chance. Bedford’s last win was on January 21st opposed to Cambridge.
The three winning skippers, Ken Perks, Graham Campbell and Shane Shaw came
up trumps, whilst Kevin Burke kept it tight on his rink.
Oh yes me old mate. Just had the feeling that the selctors
were on the right path when they changed the rinks around and some of the skips
as well. Sometimes the selectors do actually get it right and they certainly
did on this occasion with the moves saving the team from relegation
Wanneroo 89 (8) d Osborne Park 65 (0)
Wanneroo were losers to bottom placed Innaloo followed up with an 8 pointer against the third team, giving the Roos 6 wins to the Parks 4 in the second round.
Doubleview (97) d Bassendean 68 (1)
The View possibly had a little more motivation than Bassendean with the opportunity to knock off the top team at home.
I do wonder what the attitude of Bassendean will be in the finals.
Cambridge 111 (8) d Innaloo 53 (0)
Cambridge would have been feeling well pleased with their effort and must have been deflated on receiving Bedford’s result from Morley.
2 wins in Round 2 by Cambridge compared poorly against 4 wins by Innaloo.
Sorrento 90 (6) d North Beach 82 (2)
Sorrento managed 102½ points for the season and they have no opportunity to play for promotion.
North Beach ran their opponents close, playing away.
Note:
There will be no previews or reviews of the finals
as they have no significance and regular players will be missing.
There will be an “end of season” report on all clubs later this
week.
