Review 1 Blue North Round

1 Sorrento 94 (7) d Morley 61 (1)

The result was as predicted however the margin was wider than expected.

Skipper Brown had a winning margin of 25. I suspect this is the same skipper who had a great record in 2nd Division last season.

Bassendean 96 (7) d North Beach 71 (1)
A satisfactory start for Justin Opie in his new role. He can expect much tougher opposition in future contests.

Wanneroo 87 (7) d Bedford 76 (1)
Newly promoted Wanneroo made an auspicious start to the season against strong opposition, illustrating why Wanneroo were club of the year. Victories by their 1 Red, 1 Blue and 2nd Division indicate another strong showing by this club, suggesting they may become the equal of other top clubs that have dominated for years.

Osborne Park 100 (7½) d Cambridge 75 (½)
Playing away, Osborne Park had an impressive victory and looking through the team lists, they have plenty of experience and ability. A successful season can be expected considering the names missing from their line-up such as Pendergast and Mariani .

Doubleview 86 (6) d Innaloo 76 (2)
The losers were most impressive led by Greg Young’s rink winning by 16 shots. He had father and son combination (ex Doubleview bowlers) Peter and Andrew Tennant in his team, adding a little spice to the game. Bomber Haring with a 12 point winning margin continued his good form of the previous season With no hint of humility, 5/5 selections came in. It may not occur again.

ROUND TWO
North Beach 98 (8) d Innaloo 57 (0)
A very comfortable win to North Beach and a disappointment for Innaloo after the previous days strong effort.

Morley 83 (8) d Wanneroo 62 (0)
What a turn around for both sides. Morley certainly performed well at home and the Wanneroo side I was so praiseworthy of yesterday had a big let down.

Osborne Park 75 (6) d Doubleview 74 (2)
A great start to the season for Ossie Park with two wins and a top effort from Doubleview playing away. Possibly a most significant result for both clubs, even so early in the season.

Bedford 80 (6) d Cambridge 56 (2)
Bedford will be pleased having opened their winning account, whilst on the other hand Cambridge with 2½ points after two rounds, will have cause for concern.

Bassendean 71 (7) d Sorrento 70 (1)
Another result that could have ramifications for later in the season. A great start for Justin and playing Innaloo at home next week.

Bassendean and Ossie Park both had 1 point victories and are the only two undefeated sides. With a single promotion to 1 White available, every point is important and this promises to be a cutthroat competition.
