Review One Blue North Round7
Morley 85 (6 pts) d Innaloo 79 (2 pts)
Congrats to Innaloo and particularly skipper Tony Losinjanin with his rink of
Wally Stevens, Bill Cox and Greg Haydock on their 22 shot victory, a mighty
effort.
Morley collected 6 points however they are already too far behind the
runaways, Bassendean and Sorrento, to contemplate finishing on top. Rod Revell’s rink had a good win by 19 shots for Morley.
Bassendean 84 (6) d Wanneroo 68 (2)
Six points to Bassendean against the second bottom side at home is not all that convincing. Listened to you on 90.5 FM on Saturday Blackie, you were right that Bassendean collected 7 points against Sorrento in round 2, however the score was 71/70 and not a win by 8-10 shots.
Justin Opie’s rink now consisting of Robertson, Greenhalgh and Black is establishing itself as probably the strongest in this colour with a + 72 shots.
Echo Widermanski Wanneroo (pictured) continues in fine form
for the Roo’s with
another win.
Bedford 93 (8) d Osborne Park 72 (0)
A great eight points for Bedford playing away with Brian Tupper’s rink win by 17 shots being the standout. Sherro passed on your message Shane. I had the pleasure of bowling with and against your late Dad Ken, a top bowler. A nicer bloke on and off the green you couldn’t meet.
All the ladies miss his greeting “You look lovely today”.
Osborne Park are the major disappointment this season. Observed Dante Mariani skippering in 2nd Division.
Cambridge 90 (6) d North Beach 77 (2)
Their first win away with John Dawson leading the way with a massive 21 shot victory. John Coles’ rink registered their fifth win and have a +36 shot season record for North Beach.
John Dawson Cambridge (pictured) always hard to beat skipper
Is this 1 Blue North, or is that 1 Blue Boring Sherro? We all know finishing in the four counts for nothing. The second most important scenario is who’s for the chop and both these sides are still candidates.
Sorrento 81 (6) d Doubleview 78 (2)
Playing away and without their undefeated skipper Neil Adams and against The
View who had to win, this promised to be a stern test for Sorrento. With 83
ends completed.
I’m informed the aggregates were tied at 78 a piece and the
rinks of skips Linford (normally third for Adams) and Johnson were playing
the last end. The final scores tell the story.
