Bedford
do as we thought they would do!! get 6 points and win the Archie Marriot
Memorial trophy. With Yokine being relegated it would appear that Bedford will
hold the trophy for a long time as the clubs will not meet in One Red for sometime. Barry
Gartrell (pictured) was
a great friend of Archie and we see him here, holding the trophy | Club | Played | Won | lost | Draw | rinks | for | Against | Points | % |

Bedford (6 ) beatYokine (2) ..........85/
68..
The game went as expected with Bedford winning on two rinks. Bedford's recent
form suggesting this was what Bedford could expect. This was a danger game
for Bedford
considering
how the Yokine Doggies have been
traveling
for
the past 8 games or so. The win has now put an important buffer between Bedford
and Wanneroo/Melville, 11.5 points with four games to go.
It was the reliable rinks of Pieter Harris and the Jones Boy that again carried
the day for Bedford. Yokine were good enough to get two points and considering
that the gun rink at Yokine, that of Alan Davis were beaten is a
pretty fair effort for Yokine.

T. Kay {skip}, T. Fulcher, J. McGrath .W.Tudor----------------------10
The Jones Boy and his rink who have lost three
games this season got away well and after 7 ends were
leading 5/4 but from here on they were well in control slipping out to
a 12/6 after 13 ends of which they had won 9 of the 13 ends. Things were
in cruise control from here on as they swept the Yokine rink away to
win this game rather easily 26/10 and taking out 14 0f the 21 ends.

P. Harris {skip} B. Gartrell,

A.Davis {skip} D. Haydock, J. Gallop, B.
Morrison............................15
Pieter Harris found themselves up against the best rink that Yokine have
to offer and that meant it would not be a stroll in the park. However
his rink got out to a flyer and were leading 11/3 on the 7th end. As the
game wore on there was a mini comeback by the Yokine Boys to be 8/11 down
on the 10th and a game on each teams hands. Well that is where thing started
to get away from Alan Davis's rink because by the 13th end P. Harris led
18/8 and had a match winning lead that was never surrendered and ended up
22/15.
Pieter Harris won 11 ends to 10

Another hard day at the office for Stu Bainbridge in a nip and tuck affair
playing against John Currie. Stu leading 9/8 on the 7th end and holding up
very well.On the 15th end it was 16/16 but with John Currie picking up a
6 on the 17th end broke the game in his favour. Down 23/16 on the 17th end
things were out of reach as John Currie went on to win 24/21
John Currie
won 11 ends to 10

Lance Strahan {skip}, N.Minchin. D.Crook, P. Hunter----------16
S. McCann (skip), I.Cooper, D. Pasilich,
J. Lorencs. ------------19
Sid McCann has won his second game of the season,
last week was his first after 6 straight losses. Lance Strahan went into
this game with a new front end with David Crook playing his first ever
game in one Red and to lose by 3 shots was a good result for Bedford.
It was a hard slog all the way thru the game with little separating
both rinks,
It was Yokine who were always in front throughout the game albiet only
marginly.
On the 20th end of the game Lance and his boys hit the front
to lead 16/15, However Sid got big 4 on the last end to win a tight game
19/16
Sid McCann won 12 ends to 9

K. McIlroy {skip} B. Urqhart, A. Delaporte, G. Papadouplous.......20
The Kyle McIlroy led rink have won there past four games straight and building
up nicely for the finals
D. Commrie{skip},W. Heldt ,G.Strahan , B. Heldt..........................28
R. Ball {skip} D. Katunarich, McGill, C. Slavich..............................13
This
is a huge result for Leeming and for Danny Comrie and his side to win against
the best performed rink up till now in One Red. Blake Heldt
is only a young fellah but has now enjoyed a win and a draw in his first two
games. I am sure that after last week he would not have imagined that he would
have
been in a rink that toppled such luminaries of the game.

Big win for Rhett Butler
=============================================================
Cambridge (6) DEF Wanneroo (2)...............88/70..
This was the win that Cambridge had to have. Recent form was well below that
of a team that was so dominant in the first round
John Rainoldi had a 4 shot win against Geoff Ellis and his revamped rink
21/17
Ron Stockton who's rink was belted last week, has in turn had a gigantic
win against new skip Russell Bate winning 38/10
Clive Adams, the Wanneroo Wizard won a thriller against one of the best rinks
in the competition that of Trystan Smallacombe 18/17.
Stein Davies also had a handy win against Brian Katunarich, 25/12
==================================================
Cockburn(8) beat Melville (0)..................108/ 57..
Cockburn stamp their authority in this game and have now installed themselves
as Premiership favourites. All rinks were on top of their game and Melville
felt the full power of the best team in One Red at the moment.
Russell Hughes {skip} S. Cerff, A. Petchell, ???? won the game against Jon
Sharp 26/20
Steve Srhoy won his game against the second top rink in One Red when he beat
Jeff Hall very easily 22/9
Dan Brown and his rink rolled up their sleeves and got stuck into Cameron
Girvans rink 33/13
Gary Carberry had a comfortable win against new skip Steve Hughes 27/15
==================================================
Osborne Park (7 ) Victoria Park(1)
...................88/
69....
Osborne Park surprise the bowling world with a win that was unexpected. I must
say that I never gave them a chance after their worst effort for the season last
week against The PowerHouse.
Victoria
Park
are
so
unpredictable
it is useless to even guess what they might come up with next.
