Not as expected in round Ten
The Cambridge Knights win, but nothing to skite about today. Yokine almost do the trick and fall a little short.

Melville Magic come to play, and dump Vic Park with a massive win, Vic Park missing in action. This is one of the most important wins that the magic will have this season.

Doubleview PowerHouse are too good for an inept Bedford Bulls side.
Yes!! it is true, The PowerHouse are a solid team, but not the world beaters they have been in the past. Bedford have disappointed in some areas and will need to address certain issues that have cropped up.

Osborne Park just can't buy a win at the moment, while Wanneroo who are all tipsters nightmare, play to their early season form and have a surprise win. But not a surprise to them.

BEDFORD QUOTE " Sherro we all heard Daniel Browns comments this morning on 90.5FM and have to say how disappointing it was, let alone that he also stated that he doesn't like Bedford. Thanks Dan!!, because you have inspired me and the other Bedford Players. Sure we did not win today but we are still up there, and still in second place, I would like to say more but will save it for later. GO THE BULLS"
STU BAINBRIDGE.

BULL QUOTE " not available for comment" Lance Strahan

Doubleview (6) beatBedford (2 ) ..........84/ 77.........

A game that was so important for the Bulls, and even more important for the PowerHouse. We saw the unbeaten run of the Jones Boy and his rink of Bill Richardson, Paul Hunter and John Carlsen come to an end at the hands of John Slavich, Lindsay Thorne, Danny Slavich and Winton Langdon 21/13

Stu Bainbridge continued on his merry way picking up another important point for the Bulls, against Kyle McIlroy who has recorded his 7th loss for the season.

Pieter Harris and his rink, like old man river just keep rolling along, singing their song, with his new leader to take the honours over the well performed rink of Pat Buller.
Lance Strahan was crunched by a relentless side led by Robbie Ball and the sad part is that Lance, who has State side aspirations and his rink were swept away by the Powerhouse in such an easy manner.

The Jones Boy and his rink are still the leaders after his loss today One Red.

J. Slavich {skip}, Lindsay Thorne, Danny Slavich W.Langdon----------25
The Jones Boy { skip}, B. Richardson. Paul Hunter, J. Carlsen----------13
The Jones Boy has finally lost his first game for the season and to none other than John Slavich, skippering for the PowerHouse in this new season after a very successful season last year playing as a third.
The Jones Boy and the rink was very slow out of the blocks today, same last week also, and found themselves in a spot of bother to be down 4/14 after the 11th end and worse still 8/21 0n the 17th end. That spells the end of the penny section for the Jones Boy and we see John Slavich be the first skipper to end this magnificent run of a very good rink by running out handsome winners 21/13.
Linday Thorne doubleview (pictured) played a huge game against the Jones Boy

The man who played the biggest part in the victory was former Skipper Lindsay Thorne who played a great game to thwart the Jones Boy' rink 9th victory

Best for the PowerHouse Lindsay Thorne

P. Buller{skip} R. Dempsey, K. Screech,J. Bausor...................18
P. Harris {skip} N. Minchin, M.Illich ,K. Minchen...................19

A hard game for both teams as the score indicates. Pieter got away to a handy start leading 7/0 on the 5th end and crank up further to lead 12/4 on the 10th end. Well it was time for Pat Buller and his boys to say enough is enough and lets get into the contest and this they did to storm to the lead on the 16th end 16/13. That was some sort of comeback, but Pieter Harris and his team steadied to win a nail biter 19/18. Again it clearly shows that any game is not over till the final bowl is played in many a game.
Ken Screech Doubleview (pictured) had a big game today and has fitted into the Powerhouse unit very nicely

Best for Doubleview was the second Ken Screech
The Leaders had a ding dong go, Jim Bausor for the Powerhouse and for Bedford, the new kid on the block Keith Manton who played his first game in One Red..

===========================================================
K. McIlroy {skip},B. Urqhart, A. Delaporte, G. Papadopoulos-------18
S.Bainbridge {skip}, J. Trewhella, M. Lemos, M. Trewhella.---------24

The game started out in a very competitive fashion with little separating the two rinks to see Stu Bainbridge leading 10/8 on the 12th end. That's when Stu and his rink put their foot on the pedal and shoot away to lead 20/8. To the credit of Kyle and his boys they didn't throw in the towel and kept at it to lose by a small margin.

best player for Bedford was leader
Matty Trewhella
========================================================
R. Ball (skip), D. Kat, C. Slavich,R. Hutchinson. -------------27
Lance Strahan {skip}, M.Illich. S.Shaw, K. Collins-----------21
WOW!! What a comeback for Robbie Ball. Lance Strahan was leading 15/4 on the 9th end then we saw the old Powerhouse shuffle in action to swamp Lance and his new look rink to lead 24/19. By One Red standards this is a thumping of the worst kind
when a rink has such a commanding lead and surrender it so easily.
The big question is!! Can Chilli Illich play as a three, some say no, but Lance has taken him on board to fill the position anyway, not sure if Chilli is the man for the position just yet. The score ended up 27/21 and shows a vast gulf between the two rinks in ability.

Wanneroo (6) DEF Osborne Park (2 )...........89/ 82....

The Wanneroo Express had a surprise win against Osborne Park as most thought O.P. would win this game.
Clive Adams, Barry Parmenter, Gary Cox and Phil Potts had a big win against John Goddard 27/18 to set up the win for Wanneroo.The front end of Phil Potts and Gary Cox played extremely well to give Clive Adams the edge in this game.
Stein Davies rink were too good for the young rink of Daniel Trewhella and won 22/15
Wings Evans would have been a happy man after recording his third win for the season with a new rink, defeating the brilliant rink of Geoff Ellis 24/16. Hopefully for him things will turn around from here on. Best Player for Wanneroo was Geoff Elliss who saved many shots with his brilliant drawshot ability.

Bill Galloway won his 4th game for the season with a narrow win against Ron Bates 25/24. Bills rink won this game on the last end. Graham Adamini played a very good game as leader for Ron Bates

"Wings" Evans Osborne Park (pictured) really flew today with a new look rink and had a timely win today

Leeming (0)
DEF Cockburn (0)...............00/00...
to be played as a doubleheader

==================================================

Melville(8) beat Victoria Park(0)..................110/55...
Melville Magic had all the tricks out on display against Victoria Park. Jon Sharp Adrian Lee, Roger Barnes and John Birch handed Steve Withers rink a belting winning 35/11.
Jeff Hall continued on his merry way knocking over Rooster Wishart's rink 24/11.
Steve Hughes would be pleased with his rinks win against the dangerous Justin Opie led rink 30/15.
Cameron Girvan and his rink of John Terrell, Sean McCormack and Paul Harber had a nice win against Mark Simpson 21/18
The win has kept the final four aspirations of Melville alive and just maybe they have found the right combination with the elevation to Skipper of Steve Hughes.
Unbeleivable !!! is the only thing we can say about the Victoria Park performance, the loss is a massive one and they have missed a golden opportunity to help avoid relegation

==================================================

Cambridge (6) Yokine (2) ...................75/ 71....
Trystan Smallacombe defeated Sid McCann 19/15 in a tight game
Brian Katunarich defeated Tony Kay were in front most of the day saw the return to One Red of Terry Fulcher who was a terrific player some years ago for this game. Tony Kay and the rink were 8/18 down finished up making the score board look a more respectable. 19/14
Ron Stockton drew the short straw and had to play Yokines best rink saw him lose his third game for the season 17/19
Ian Coopers rink who have been very inconsistent this year, suffering some huge losses defeated John Rainoldi's rink who led 9/0 at one stage, to come back into the game and win 24/21.
