"To avoid criticism, do nothing, say nothing, be nothing."
- Elbert Hubbard

In a round of upset results Victoria Park did themselves a big favour to beat Cambridge while Bedford lose another game they should have won but have been saved by the upset win by Yokine over Melville and the loss of Wanneroo has kept the fight for the fourth spot very open. What more damage can Yokine inflict on the competition, for the competitions sake lets hope it is plenty.

Cockburn win at Wanneroo, show their class, 6 wins straight from Last years premiers and doing it easily on a 17 second green
Doubleview PowerHouse destroy Osborne Park hopes and do what a good team has to do, WIN and win well.

Yokine will be up all night barking. So they should be!!!! , they have been knocking on the door of victory for sometime now, and after traveling to Melville, record their first win for the season against Melville Magic who are final four fancies and now face the embarrasement of being the first team to lose to Yokine who have too this point of time not recorded a win this season.

Leeming do the Bedford Bulls and win!!!-- Surprise, surprise. We did say it was a winnable game as far as Leeming were concerned. This is a loss Bedford might regret.
Victoria Park win against Cambridge in a surprise win.Who would have predicted this most important win for the V.P boys. Certainly not Sherro.

Leeming (4.5 ) beatBedford (3.5) ..........85/ 85..

This was a game all tipsters bar one, selected Bedford. They were wrong, me included. O.K Bedford have their sites set on a spot in the final four and winning the premiership . I guess if Bedford are going to be a genuine threat they must beat under achievers like Leeming especially on their home ground. After last weeks performance against Osborne Park, to come away with the small end of the points in this must win game will be disapponting for Pieter Harris, the new man in charge of the Bulls.
=========================================================

The Jones Boy { skip}, B. Richardson. Paul Hunter, K. Collins-----21

R. Butler {skip}, G. Gould, J. Richards .G.Ford-----------------------17
The Jones Boy and his rink have been under the pump of late. After winning 8 straight and a draw, it has been all down hill for his rink. A change of leader, Kevin Collins has made a difference and the rink have come up with their frst win for some time. The win was against Rhett Butler and his rink, and boy!! it has been all down hill for Rhett since the change of thirds. We are not blaming the third for these losses incidently.
It was not an easy game, when we look at the stat sheet to find the Jones Boy's rink is down 2/6 after 5 ends only to see he is leading 15/10 on the 15th end which does indicate that the game was a fierce contest because the 16th end saw it all square 15/15 on the 16 th end. 16/16, 18/17, 21/17 to record their first win since round 8

Best for Leeming was leader G. Ford

==========================================================
P. Harris {skip} B. Gartrell, M.Illich ,K. Manton...............................27
A. Provost {skip} R.Anderson , R. Ryder, T. Glenndining..................28

What a game in the scoring context, Anthony Provost got away to a great start too lead 15/3 on the 9th end. Pieter Harris's rink were finding it tough to find a score but stick at it they did. On the 12th end they were 10/20 down so the card tells us the Pieter and the boys really got stuck in and had a dip and the score was whittled down to see the scores 23/23 all. Hey!! that is a great comeback by any standard.!!!!. From here on it was nip and tuck and we see A.P do the job to win by one shot.
===========================================================
S.Bainbridge {skip}, J. Trewhella, M. Lemos, M. Trewhella--------2o
D. Commrie{skip},W. Heldt ,G.Strahan , B. Heldt-------------------20

This was a great game if the scoreboard is the barometer. Stu and his boys got away to a flyer and led 11/2 at the conclusion of the 7th end. Things got tough for Stu and his rink and we saw the healthy scoreboard looking very unhealthy 14/17 down. Then Stu and his boys hold on to draw the game 20/20.
This was a good showing for Danny Commrie skippering his first game for the season and what a mighty effort. We also see that the Rosenthal Medallists medal winner Young Blake Heldt make his first appearance in the One Red division and no doubt he will always remember this first game of many that will follow from here on..

========================================================
Lance Strahan {skip}, N.Minchin. S.Shaw, J. Carlson---------17
B. Edwards (skip), B.West, A. Pryce, C. McKenna. ------------20

A swap of leaders didnt help Lance and his boys to victory today. Things seemed to be going his way when we see his rink leading 9/3 after 8 ends only to see the lead cut back very quickly to be 10/10 all on the 11th end. By end seventeen, Lance was leading 17/14 but was unable to score again in this match and we see his rink lose 17/20 to Bruce Edwards, Bill West, Alan Pryce and C. McKenna.

Doubleview (8) DEF Osborne park (0 )...........91/ 54....
As expected the PowerHouse won handsomely. 91/54 says it all. This was probably the worst effort from the Osborne Park 16 this season
Robbie Ball won easily against John Goddard 24/14
John Slavich and his rink were handsome winners against Wings Evans 27/14
Kyle McIlroy keeps on keeping on, and has won three games straight winning his game against Bill Galloway 26/13
It seems the only Ossy Park rink to put in a good contest was the rink of Daniel Trewhella who lost an extremely tight game to Pat Bullers boys. Pat winning 14/13.
=============================================================
Cockburn (7) DEF Wanneroo (1)...............83/66..
We thought this would be a danger game for the Cockburn, however it was a no contest with the premiers winning on three rinks and making light of the slick 17 second grass.
Daniel Brown was the big winner getting over the line against Stein Davies 23/11
Russell Hughes rink doing the job against Geoff Ellis 23/14
Gary Carberry played his first game as a skipper for Cockburn and played a blinder to get across the line against Clive Adams and his boys 20/13.
Russ Bates filled in for brother Ron as skip and with a revamped side the rink played with the eye of the tiger to have a comfortable win against the Steve Srhoy rink 28/17. All players backed up the new skip with Gary Ademini doing well as a three.
==================================================

Yokine(7) beat Melville (1)..................84/66...
Yokine Doggies win their first game for the season and take the Melville Magic to the cleaners. In a must win game playing at home the Magic have thrown away a golden oppportunity managing to win on one rink.
Captain Sid McCann won his first game as skipper for the season defeating new skip Steve Hughes 22/11
John Currie and his rink did a mighty job to roll Jon Sharp 26/18
Alan Davis have another game of just getting over the line against Cameron Girvin
Jeff Hall was the only Magic winner beating Tony Kay 22/19

==================================================
Victoria Park (7 ) Cambridge(1) ...................96/ 59....
Sherro says Vic Park to get smashed ( it wasn't in my calculations that it would be from after match celebrations ) but it was they who did the smashing in a game that will possibly save the day for them in the relegation stakes.
Gossip around the bowling clubs is Cambridge are starting to run out of gas. The loss today saw them drop to second position, not the end of the world for them and I guess that all teams do go thru a slump at some stage of the season. They will need to steady up from here on.
Rooster Wishart's rink handed out a drubbing to Ron Stockton's rink to set up the win 29/9
New skipper Charlie McNeil had a dream start to the Role with his rink belting Scott Edmonds to the tune of 31/15.
Steve Withers won his fourth game for the season with a very handy win over the rink of John Rainoldi 19/16
Justin Opie fell just short of victory against the leading Cambridge rink of Trystan Smallacombe who was the only winner for Cambridge 19/17
