All went As expected in round three
The Bedford Bulls win as expected, Poll right again, 58% say yes for Bulls 42%
say yes for Osborne Park.
WOW!! Cambridge play Cockburn at their own game to take the points
The Powerhouse have a comfortable win, as all would have predicted they should
against
Victoria
Park.
Melville do a job on Leeming, which is a mild surprise considering the great
start
that Leeming have made to the new season.
Wanneroo slaughter The Doggies and send them packing all the way to One White.
QUOTE Lance Strahan said after todays game that it
was nice to be out in front, things are good at the moment,we aren't getting
carried away, there
is so much more to be done, and another 15 games to be played yet."

November 19th 2005:
Bedford
(7) beat Osborne Park (1) ..........81/
70.........
The Bulls had a lot to play for today. Games don't get bigger than this and
to knock over Ossy Park takes some doing.
There was a 3.00 PM start to
allow for players that were playing at other clubs the opportunity to come
back home to see the end of a One
Red
pennant
game.
There was a lot riding on this game. A showdown to see where each club was
at, at this stage of the season.
Home ground advantage for Bedford played a part in this win, it was played
on the carpet, reason being to cover if any games were went longer than normal
that lights would be available if needed. There were no lights on "D" green.
Overall the win was good tho it was a small
margin.
This keep Bedford ahead of the pack tho it is early days, they go
to Leeming next week to face another challenge.
Osborne Park. who are my pick to win the flag are on struggle street at this
early stage of the season also face yet another big challenge next week when
they clash with the Powerhouse, at Osborne Park.

The Jones Boy { skip}, B. Richardson. Paul Hunter, J.
Carlsen-----------20
Wings Evans {skip}, I. Payne, D. Eaton, J.Coleman------------------------11
These two rinks met in the first round last year
and the game was settled by one shot in favour of Wings Evans.
Not so
today, the win was a comprehensive victory for the Jones Boy who had an outstanding
game
against
Wings Evans
and his team who seem to have fallen on hard times and are under the pump
with one win so far for the season.
The Jones Boy, Bill Richardson, Paul Hunter and John Carlsen jumped out of
the blocks to lead 9/2 after the 6th end. By the 14th end they led 14/5 and
doing it easy as far as the scoreboard was concerned. 19/7 by the 17th end
and game over to win 20/11.
The Jones Boy has a settled rink and compatable
rink, continue to impress with three straight wins so far this season.
Best Players for Bedford was the Skipper The Jones
Boy

Barry Gartrell {skip}, Neil
Minchin ,John Trewhella, K. Collins---20
John Goddard {skip},G. Hinkley ,C. Guelfi Jnr, G. King
------------18
This was a good win for Barry Gartrell and his rink of Neil Minchin, John
Trewhella and Kevin Collins.
Playing against John Goddard and winning is an acheivement, tho it was a
small margin, the point is what matters.
The game started out with Barry Gartrell's rink jumping out to a 9/1 lead
on the 6th end --13/5 on the 12th end, the game took a turn for the worse
with Barry Gartrell side losing the big lead they enjoyed with John Goddard
and his rink climbing right back into the contest to be 14/14 on the 16th
end.
J.G'S side dropped a five on the following end and were not able to recover
the lead from then on.
Kevin Collins was the best player for the Bulls today with a great leaders
game. While John Goddard's rink didn't play to their ability on the day,
tho the score seems to say they were not far away and had their chances..
Bedford 11 ends-- OssyPark 10 ends.

P. Harris {skip} L. Strahan M.Illich ,F. Andrich..................21
D. Trewella {skip}, P. (kelvin) Caffell, J. Tyrer, P.
Fair.........16
The scoreline says it was a tight game, a mere 5 shots the difference,
two of the best skippers in the competition against one and other, however
the player to shine was
Pieter
Harris
who had a terrific game and was roundly applauded by all for his efforts for
a brilliant display.
Pieter Harris and his boys jumped out of the blocks early to lead 8/2
on the 4th end, from that time on it was a great fight back from Daniel
Trewella and the boys to charge to the front and lead 12/10 on the
11th end. From there on it was all Bedford to take charge and finish the
match off, 21/16.
Leader Paul Fair had another great game as leader for Osborne Park
Best for Bedford was Pieter
Harris .
Best for the Osborne Park was leader Paul Fair
===========================================================
S.Bainbridge {skip}, M. Lemos, S. Shaw, M. Trewhella.---------14
B.
Galloway {skip},P. Pendergast ,G. Nicol, F. Carbone.-----20
Bill Galloway does the job again for his new club taking a most valuable
point.
This was an entertaining game, both sides trying
to gain ascendency and after the 13th end had been completed it was 8/8 apiece.
On the 16th end Stu
Bainbridge
led 13/10 but was only able to score on one more end after that, with Bill
Galloway and his boys upping the ante to get back into the contest to lead
15/14 on the 20th end.
The last end saw them snapping up a big, big five on
the last end to take the point. 20/14
The man who did the most for Bill Galloways's rink
was the leader Frank Carbone.
Stu Bainbridge has one win on the book at this stage
but going on the way this game was played it was hard to get the shot then
be able to keep it.
Best Player for the Osborne Park was Frank
Carbone pictured above
Wanneroo (8) DEF Yokine(0)...........108/
45.....
The Roo boys take the Doggies apart in a complete demolition to remain undefeated
after three games.
What an enormous victory for the Wanneroo Express, no passengers in today's game.
The margin is a surprise even considering the Doggies have lost a few players.
Where
to
for
Yokine,
One
White we would have to say. Lets hope they can be more competitive in their remaining
games.
Ron Bates and his rink were awesome, smashing the rink of the previously undefeated
rink of Alan Davis to the tune of 32/7.
Geoff Ellis and his rink remain unbeaten, had a birthday giving Ian Cooper the
old
heave
ho
with
a
resounding victory 28/6.
The Wanneroo Wizard, Clive Adams and his rink of Phil Potts, Graham Adamini
and
Gary
Cox
won
their
first
game
of
the
season beating John Currie by a couple of shots.22/16 to notch their first win
for the season.
Stein Davies who played his biggest bowl of season 2005/6 last week, has continued
on with a good win over Trevor Brougham 26/16.
=============================================================
Melville (7) DEF Leeming (1)...............85/57.....
The
form of Jeff Hall,K. Couzens, G. Jones R. Andrew and his rink is good news
for the Magic winning their third successive game,
winning against Bruce Edward15/14.
Adrian Lee (pictured) played his part in the great
victory against Rhett Butler.
Colin Fleay and his rink of A. Lee, ? Kennedy, ?Faust had a huge win over
the highly rated Rhett Butler's rink 28/11. I Don't think that was in the
game plan for Leeming but a great victory for Colin to help set up victory
Cameron Girvan, - Terral - G. McCormack - Harber really turned it on against
Wayne Heldt to win 28/14
Anthony Provost won against Jon Sharp in a tight contest that went right
to the wire, 18/14.
==================================================
Doubleview
(7) beat Victoria Park(1)..................81/67...
The Powerhouse win their second game this season, and as expected they would
have had to much fire power for Victoria Park.
The good win by new skip John Slavich against Justin Opie 21/20
Pat Buller, Ross Dempsey, Jim Bausor, Jim Barry had another fine win getting
hold of Mark Simpson 23/14
Robbie Ball
did the trick for the Powerhouse, beating Steve Withers 22/16.
Kyle McIlroy lost his third game this season. going down to Rooster Wishart
who remains undefeated so far in the new season.
Best Player for Roosters rink
was Kevin
Pickering
( Skipper of the State Triples semi-finalist) who had a big game.
Rooster
won 17/14
==================================================
Cambridge (7) Cockburn (1) .....................89/
80....
A game where Cambridge has to stand up and be counted. Well they did that
with a nice win over the reigning premiers. The big ask for Cambridge was,
who would the be the rink that might draw Russell Hughes and freinds. Trystan
Smallacombe and his rink drew the short straw.
Russell
Hughes and his boys won by a small margin in a very tight game.18/16. Best
players were Scotty Edmonds for Cambridge, Russell Hughes for Cockburn.
John Rainoldi, Jarrod Rainoldi, Irvan, Aj Heal picked up an eight against
Normy Pascoe, D. Penman J. Ravalich, Beswick in their good win, 32/21 today
at Cambridge.
Dan Brown,Mike Zusman, Mat Muller K. Novak shut down the previously unbeaten
rink of Brian Katunarick winning 21/19 in another tight contest.
Ron Stockton won his first game for the season against the good rink of
Steve Srhoy, who lost another tight game by a narrow margin, 23/20.
