This page is
about the rumours that we hear from time to time--so please take it as
just that
--rumours--gossip. I cant say they are right or wrong. "I hate to spread rumours but what else can you
do with them?"
June 6, 2005
Jarrod Rainoldi might be headed to Hilton Park is the word
around the place.
Brian Katunarich, former Mosman Park player, taking some players with him to
play at Cambridge, is one that is doing the rounds.
June 6, 2005
The latest rumour is Dinko Golem will join Marko at Dalkeith,
Dinko proved how good he was as a skipper playing for Cockburn and is a premiership
winner.
Dalkeith will zoom up the grades and in three years will be in One Red with
players of this quality.
Another one I overheard is Ross Dempsey, a former state Player and winner of
the Mackie Medal as the best player for season 2005, is considering his options
at Doubleview and may be off to Sorrento, Ross won the state singles some years
back beating Keith Guelfi 25-24 in the best state singles final that I have
seen.
Not sure Sorrento is the best option for Ross if he does move.
June 4, 2005
Mark Krajancic has signed up to play for Dalkeith Nedlands.
This is sure to have an impact on the club.
It appears that they want to be part of the bigger picture. Not only have they
secured Marko, the word is they intend to get another couple of players to
the club this season to
compliment
the playing list.
The rumour was right on the money, regarding Marko.
With brother Tony playing
across the bay we will see a resurgence at Dalkeith and Mosman Park in the
coming
season.
June 4, 2005
Roger Barns also heading to the "magic" to play with his former
Cambridge team mate Jon Sharp.
"Bomber" Gearing also getting back into One Red action
with
Sharpy, they played together last season in Merridan, winning the
South Eastern zone pennant. Will their presence be enough to
help Melville win their first ever One Red flag in 2006?
June 4, 2005
Where will Jeff Richards play this coming season? Word is
he could line up in a "Magic" shirt. Jeff has become one of those
forgotten players and currently is playing for Kardynia.
Jeff always had a
bit of talent
and from
memory played state bowls a few years ago.
Melville or any other One Red club for that matter would be very happy to
get him into their team.
May 30, 2005
It has been floating around the traps that Doubleview and State player, Bruce
Urqhart will play at Sportsman's this season, if that is the case it will
almost get
the club promoted into One White . That is a great signing
for Sporties if the rumour is correct.
May 30, 2005
Good news for the boat trip, the boat was righted as soon as Lance
and the Bair got off the boat, and the journey went ahead without them.
It was a very pleasant trip with Daniel Trewella on board, it does open
up the possibility of him not going to Cockburn and joining The "Magic" instead.
Seems to be a real big chance to happen.
If that does occur, who will Osborne Park get to replace Daniel?
Some of the other guests that were on board were Roger Barnes, Brian Gearing,
and Neil Payne,
If these players are recruited, it will certainly help the "Magic" to
pull a few rabbits out of the hat in the coming season.
May 29, 2005
The latest rumour is Bedford Bulls player John McGrath, signs with the Doggies.
Also
leader John Bills going with him.
John
McGrath was a One Blue player at Bedford and will be quite a good pickup
for the Doggies.
May 29, 2005
Word has arrived regarding the Loveboat trip.
Sad news to date,the
Melville boat trip was tinged with disaster today when the boat started to
sink. Seems they took too many people on board, or rumour
has it that Lance
Strahan and Kevin Bairstow were on the boat and standing on the same
side when the boat capsized at the dock. will keep everyone posted as news
comes
thru.
May 28, 2005
Well, one rumour that is getting around the place is Mark Lindsay
and Lester Mortimer are set to play for Mosman park this season along with
John Rainoldi and son Jarrod, whom have already been rumoured earlier on this
rumours page to be going there.
May 23, 2005 Hey, just heard the rumour about the big boat trip Melville Magic have
organised
is set for next Sunday, so that new players and possible recruits will be on
board
to
enjoy some of that famous Magic hospitality. You can even now almost hear the
strains of the
melody "cruising down the rivar on a Sundee afternoon" wafting across
the bay as the boat passes Melville Water.
Some of the biggest names in the bowling world will be on board, Neil Payne,
Bill Galloway, Russell Hughes and Pieter Harris to name a few.
Man oh man!! they are some of
the best players going around, that are on that boat.
Will Melville Magic be successful? It will cost a truckload of money to
get these names into the fold. Think they will have to have Mayne and Nickless
on hand at the jetty, when the boat pulls in, just in case they get a few signatures
on the dotted line.
May 22, 2005
Will Craig Greenhalgh and Dean Robertson be at Yokine next
season, heard a whisper that all is not well at the kennel in this regard,
Craig most likely will play at Sportsmans next season. I Don't know where
Robbo will play as yet.
May 22, 2005
Talked with Marko at the Peter Sardelic tribute day, he has assured
me that he has not committed to playing for any club at this stage, but he
was playing with Peter Baccich, HHHHmmmm weeellll, looks like something
is cooking up here.
May 20, 2005 Marko Krajancic has handed in his resignation to Yokine
and will, it seems, line up at Cottesloe {a couple
of suburbs out here, Dalkeith/Nedlands it might be }with Peter Baccich
playing in 1 gold????
might put
an end to speculation about playing for Leeming in One
Rednext season. This is nearly a done deal……More news,
maybe, from the Doggies yet to come.
May 20, 2005 One rumour that is getting around the place is Bill
Galloway might be lining up for Osborne Park next season , and what a great
pickup
for
OP if that occurrs.
He would take the place of Cliff Guelfi jnr as skip one would
think. Will the second in his Gosnells rink (Grant Nicol) come along with
him to OP, Grant Nicol is one of the best seconds playing in One Red and one
of
the main
reasons for Bill Galloway's fine record in pennants last season.
If this does happen,
assuming the rumour, that Daniel Trewella is going to Cockburn is correct,
will Daniel stay at OP in this circumstance, instead of going to Cockburn?
well, that might depend on whether Bill Galloway is
re-elected
as a
state
selector
.
May 18, 2005 The
Bedford Bulls have signed up The Trewhella boys from Safety Bay for next
season. This is
great news for Bedford. Matthew Trewhella {pictured}is
recognised as one of the best leaders in the One Red division and will strengthen
the Bulls in this
area. John Trewhella is a very dedicated player who really loves
the competitve side
of lawn
bowls
who can play in any position and will
be a very handy addition to the Bedford Bulls this coming season.
Welcome aboard Fellahs.
May 15, 2005 Ron Stockton staying at Cambridge--we
think.
May 13, 2005
Ron Stockton's name has been mentioned in dispatches and his
name has been linked to the Doggies.
With Marko possibly on the move he might be just the player they are after.
May 13, 2005
There are lots of things happening in the world of lawn bowls, plenty of clubs
making plenty of offers to plenty of players.
An interesting one is John Rainoldi, he was at the Cambridge club for their
award night last Saturday, Could John be entertaining the thought of going
to Cambridge.
This is possible, John has been at DV for many years and a change of club
might regenerate his enthusiasm for lawn bowls.
His name has been linked to Mosman Park, a second division club. But I don't
think he will go there.
Brian Katunarich a former DV player who played at
Mosman Park has left that club
and now going
to play at Cambridge this season, hence why not John also playing at Cambridge
this season.
May 10, 2005
Is Steve Withers on the move? rumour has it that Steve might
be off to play for Vic Park, or he possibly may not even play at all next season.
May 8, 2005
Leeming have been on the hustings seeking new players, if we hear anything
we will pass it on.
Another name to come up is Tony Krajancic who might be interested in playing
there this season.
May 8, 2005
Heard Adrian Feltham, the ex Yokine ace just might be heading to Osborne
Park next season , would be a great pickup for the Osborne park side, Adrian
is one
of the better
draw
shots in the competition.
May 3, 2005
This is not a rumour folks, this is a fact.
Jon Sharp, State player and Merridan
bowler has signed up to play with the Melville Bowling club for next season,
putting to an end any speculation that Bedford or Cambridge would gain his
services for next season.
May 1, 2005
What is Anthony Provost doing next season, there
was talk he could be headed to sunny Queensland, That may have fallen thru
and he will stay at Sportsman's.
May 1, 2005 Where will Marko Krajancic play next season? rumours abound that he
is open for offers, and is a possibility to head down to Leeming, stay posted.
May 1, 2005
Tim Murray is definitely playing at Sorrento in the coming
season, told me himself, and with that he has put an end to all rumours that
he would play at
Vic
Park or
Bedford.
April 21, 2005
The word around the place is brilliant young skipper Daniel Trewella, is
definitely going to a club South of the river next season, could be Cockburn.
The word is Trewhella
boys Matt and John are heading to Cockburn to play next season also, we
know that
Cockburn
are a couple of players short at the front end, this can only strengthen
the already strong premiership team.
This rumour could be right on the money.
April 18, 2005
John Rainoldi off to Mosman Park is one that is floating
around the clubs at the moment.
Some chance he and young son Jarrod could be joining former
Doubleview team mates at the club for next season.
Hard to say if it will occur, but not out of the question.
May 8, 2005
Update---John Sharp off to the Melville Magic, Cambridge
and Bedford were hoping to attract him to their club-- but he wants to play
for Melville--good luck Sharpy.
April 15, 2005
Where is State bowler Jon Sharp playing next season? rumour has it, the
likeable Sharpy is heading to Bedford or Cambridge. Stay tuned.
April 12, 2005
That Man who has had more rumours than most is reported to be on the move again,
just might be back to bedford. No I can hear you say !!! Dante Mariani back
to Bedford.
I will believe it only when I see it!!!!!
April 11, 2005
Rumours
regarding Mr Shane Headly Shaw of the Bedford bowling club seem to on the money
as a cross dresser.
He has
been spotted in the Mt Lawley district on several
occasions lately and we were there to catch him at Connections night club.
Hmmm What's going on Shane?
Morrison Park
February 22, 2005:
Rumour has it that Morrison Park will
be either relocated to Brown reserve or amalgamate with Midland Bowling and
recreation
club by the start of next season.
this
is a rumour that is floating around the traps.
Sunday Times Change
February 15, 2005:
Rumour floating around that Neville Faulkner,
the Sunday times writer for around 22 years, is to quit at the end of the
current season and will be replaced by Tony Walsh from the Cambridge Bowling
club.
If that is the case we would wish Neville all the best and a job well done.
And we wish Tony all the best in his new role.
please bear in mind that this is only a rumour and I cannot confirm that
it is true.
